Brain — Diagnostics & Tests

Brain imaging is essential for diagnosing headaches, dizziness, stroke, tumors, and neurological conditions. Common tests include:

Common Tests

  • CT Scan (NCCT Head): Quick, painless scan to detect bleeding, fractures, or tumors in the brain.
  • EEG (Electroencephalogram): Records brain's electrical activity to diagnose epilepsy and seizure disorders.
  • MRI Brain: Detailed imaging for tumors, MS, and stroke evaluation.

When Should You Get Tested?

  • Persistent or severe headaches
  • Dizziness or fainting episodes
  • Memory problems or confusion
  • After head injury or trauma
Tip: For CT scans, remove any metal jewelry from head/neck area. No fasting is typically required for NCCT Head.

Heart — Cardiology Tests

Heart tests help detect heart disease, rhythm abnormalities, and structural problems. Early detection saves lives.

Common Tests

  • ECG (Electrocardiogram): Records the electrical activity of your heart. Takes just a few minutes.
  • Echocardiography (Echo): Ultrasound of the heart to see its structure and function in real-time.
  • TMT (Treadmill Test): Stress test — records heart activity while you walk on a treadmill to check for blockages.

When Should You Get Tested?

  • Chest pain or tightness
  • Shortness of breath during activity
  • Family history of heart disease
  • High blood pressure or cholesterol
Tip: For TMT, wear comfortable shoes and clothing. Avoid heavy meals 2 hours before the test.

Lungs — Respiratory Tests

Lung tests are essential for diagnosing infections, asthma, COPD, and other breathing conditions.

Common Tests

  • Chest X-Ray (PA View): The most common test to check lungs, heart size, and detect pneumonia or TB.
  • PFT (Pulmonary Function Test): Measures how well your lungs work — how much air you breathe in/out.
  • CT Chest / HRCT: Detailed scan for lung nodules, infections, and cancer screening.
Tip: For chest X-ray, wear loose clothing without metal buttons. Remove necklaces and chains.
🦴

Bones & Joints — Orthopedic Tests

Imaging of bones and joints helps detect fractures, arthritis, infections, and degenerative diseases.

Common Tests

  • Digital X-Ray: Fast imaging of any bone — knee, spine, wrist, shoulder, etc.
  • CT Scan: Detailed cross-sections for complex fractures.
  • MRI: For soft tissue injuries — ligament tears, disc problems.
Tip: Inform the technician if you have any metal implants, plates, or screws in your body.
🩸

Blood — Pathology Tests

Blood tests are the most common diagnostic tool. A simple blood sample can reveal infections, anemia, diabetes, cholesterol, and much more.

Common Tests

  • CBC (Complete Blood Count): Checks RBC, WBC, Hemoglobin, Platelets — overall health indicator.
  • Lipid Profile: Checks cholesterol and triglyceride levels (fasting required).
  • Blood Sugar (Fasting/PP): Monitors diabetes.
  • LFT & KFT: Liver and Kidney function tests.

Preparation Tips

  • Fast for 8-12 hours for fasting tests (water allowed)
  • Stay hydrated for easier blood draw
  • Inform about any medications you are taking
Tip: Reports come with a Reference Range. If your value is within range, it's normal. Always consult your doctor for interpretation.
🫘

Kidney — Renal Tests

Kidney tests help detect stones, infections, and measure how well your kidneys are filtering waste.

Common Tests

  • USG KUB: Ultrasound of Kidney, Ureter, and Bladder — detects stones, cysts, and blockages.
  • KFT (Kidney Function Test): Blood test measuring Creatinine, Urea, and BUN levels.
  • Urine Routine: Checks for infection, protein, sugar in urine.
Tip: For KUB ultrasound, you may need a full bladder. Drink 3-4 glasses of water 1 hour before the scan.
🟤

Liver — Hepatic Tests

Liver tests evaluate how well your liver is working and detect conditions like hepatitis, fatty liver, and cirrhosis.

Common Tests

  • LFT (Liver Function Test): Checks SGOT, SGPT, Bilirubin, Alkaline Phosphatase, and protein levels.
  • USG Abdomen: Visualizes liver size, texture, and detects fatty liver or tumors.
  • Hepatitis B & C Panel: Detects viral hepatitis infections.
Tip: For LFT, fasting for 8-10 hours is recommended. Avoid alcohol 24 hours before the test.
🦋

Thyroid — Endocrine Tests

The thyroid gland controls your metabolism. Thyroid disorders are extremely common and easily treatable when detected early.

Common Tests

  • TSH (Thyroid Stimulating Hormone): The primary screening test for thyroid function.
  • T3 & T4: Measures actual thyroid hormone levels in blood.
  • Thyroid USG: Checks for nodules, cysts, or enlargement of the thyroid gland.

Symptoms to Watch

  • Unexplained weight gain or loss
  • Fatigue, hair fall, dry skin
  • Irregular periods, mood swings
Tip: TSH blood test is best done in the morning. No fasting is strictly required, but early morning gives the most accurate reading.
🧬

Hormones — Endocrine Panel

Hormones regulate virtually every body process. Hormone testing helps diagnose PCOS, infertility, diabetes, and growth disorders.

Common Tests

  • Insulin / HbA1c: Long-term blood sugar control marker for diabetes management.
  • Vitamin D & B12: Common deficiencies causing fatigue, bone pain, and weakness.
  • FSH, LH, Prolactin: Reproductive hormone panel for fertility evaluation.
  • Testosterone: Male hormone levels — affects energy, mood, and fertility.
Tip: Hormone tests are best done in the morning (before 10 AM) for most accurate results.
🤰

Pregnancy — Obstetric Tests

Regular monitoring during pregnancy ensures the health of both mother and baby.

Common Tests

  • USG Pregnancy (2D/4D): Monitors fetal growth, position, heartbeat, and detects abnormalities.
  • NT Scan: First trimester screening for Down syndrome risk.
  • Anomaly Scan: Detailed mid-pregnancy scan checking all fetal organs.
  • Color Doppler: Checks blood flow to the baby through the placenta.
Tip: We offer advanced Voluson 4D ultrasound for crystal-clear images of your baby. Drink water before abdominal scans.

Spine & Nerves — Neurodiagnostics

Spine and nerve tests help diagnose disc problems, nerve compression, neuropathy, and spinal injuries.

Common Tests

  • Spine X-Ray (Cervical/Lumbar): Checks alignment, fractures, and degenerative changes.
  • NCV (Nerve Conduction Velocity): Measures how fast electrical signals travel through nerves.
  • EMG (Electromyography): Tests the health of muscles and the nerve cells controlling them.
  • MRI Spine: Detailed imaging for disc herniation, spinal cord compression.
Tip: For NCV/EMG, keep your skin clean and avoid applying lotion. The test involves mild electrical stimulation — safe and tolerable.
🫃

Abdomen — Digestive System Tests

Abdominal imaging helps evaluate the stomach, intestines, gallbladder, pancreas, and detect conditions like stones, tumors, and infections.

Common Tests

  • USG Whole Abdomen: Complete scan of all abdominal organs — liver, gallbladder, kidneys, spleen, pancreas.
  • Abdomen X-Ray: Detects bowel obstruction, kidney stones, and abnormal gas patterns.
  • CECT Abdomen: Contrast-enhanced CT scan for detailed evaluation of tumors, infections, and vascular issues.
  • Stool Routine: Checks for infections, parasites, and blood in stool.
Tip: For USG Whole Abdomen, fast for 6-8 hours before the scan for better visualization. Water is usually allowed.
